Roger Risty

Roger R. Risty is the founder and president of Risty Benefits. An Employee Benefits Specialist, Risty has more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry. He is a licensed insurance agent, registered Investment Advisor, and a Series-6 securities representative. Risty is also an active member of the Sioux Falls business community.

Some of Risty’s activities include:

 1989 to 2004: Sioux Falls School Board: served eight of years as President, and four years as Vice President. He received the “Lifetime Achievement” award from the Sioux Falls PTA.

 1993 to 2004: Associated School Boards of South Dakota: Board of Directors, served as both President and Vice President

National School Boards Association: Served on National Nomination Committee and National Policy Review Committee; delegate to the National Convention in 2000

Governor’s Educational Task Force

The Presidents’ Bowl: Founder of this community/high school event; organized to raise funds to support student organizations with the school system

Black Hills State University Foundation: Board of Directors

Jamelle E. Moen

Jamelle E. Moen is a licensed medical and life insurance representative, and is Risty Benefits’ Office Manager.

Moen’s responsibilities include quoting individual and family health plans, providing benefit information for customers at employee meetings, developing marketing materials and advertising campaigns, customer service, and overseeing day-to-day office operations.

Moen has a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in mathematics from South Dakota State University

Moen’s other activities are:

Kumon Math & Reading Center: Volunteer working with children of nearly all ages (2 to 18), teaching math and reading skills, from the basics to advanced mathematical concepts and levels of reading. (2006 to 2009)

Toastmasters International: Eastside Toastmasters, Brookings, SD; earned the title of Competent Toastmaster and Competent Leader (2002 to 2005)

Order of the Engineer: South Dakota State University (SDSU), Brookings, SD (1996)

South Dakota State University Civic Symphony Orchestra: Cellist (1990 - 1996) 

Bob Andrescik

Bob Andrescik is a licensed Customer Service Representative (CSR) specializing in property and casualty insurance.

Before coming to Risty Benefits, he worked for the Minnehaha County Treasurer’s Office, the South Dakota Department of Motor Vehicles, and was an independent insurance agent in Garretson, SD for sixteen years.

Andrescik studied Business Administration at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Richard Dougherty

Richard Dougherty is a third generation insurance consultant, having more than 30 years in the insurance industry. He has specialized in employee benefits—specifically self-insured plans. At Risty Benefits, Dougherty is an licensed account manager selling and servicing accounts for employee benefits, life, medical, dental, etc., as well as commercial property and casualty, personal auto and home insurance. Dougherty is also the president and founder of Employee Benefits Consultants, Inc., the consulting portion of Risty Benefits.

Bryce Durfee is a licensed insurance agent specializing in commercial property and casualty coverage. Durfee is also a recent graduate of the Pacesetter Producer Training Program, a program that only accepts 100 licensed insurance agents nationwide each year.

Before working at Risty Benefits, Durfee worked in multiple customer service roles in both the financial and health care industries.

Durfee studied mass communications and psychology at the University of South Dakota.
